Question

What is SmoothShapes cellulite treatment?

Someone just contacted me about a new procedure called Smoothshapes. Does it work? Are the results permanent? I believe it is similar to Velashape. Feedback?

No cure for cellulite

To be clear, there is no proven cure for cellulite up to this date. The main reason is that we do not completely understand the cause of cellulite.

However there are ways to improve the appearance. One of the first proven methods was deep mechanical massage. It simply causes your skin to puff up through deep massaging, temporarily reducing the appearance of cellulite. Later, heating through laser or radiofrequency showed some promise to improve the cellulite by strengthening the overlying skin. Light energy is one of the latest trends in improving cellulite.

It is a no-brainer to combine all available treatments to get the maximum effect possible. Smoothshapes has done that.

But you have to be realistic. It is not 100% and you need more than one treatment. But these methods are all we have at the moment until someone comes up with a definite answer.

How SmoothShapes works

Smoothshapes is a combination of a laser, a light, suction and massage. It's the most up-to-date cellulite treatment around.

Maintenance treatments are required once to twice a year. Smoothshapes has excellent results.

SmoothShapes cellulite treatment

Smoothshapes is a TEMPORARY treatment of cellulite. It uses a Mechanical Manipulation and vacuum to suck up the skin with the fat into the probe and then light at 650 nm and laser at 915 nm is fired to improve the fibrous septae surrounding the adipose tissue (fat).

I have not used Smoothshapes and they claim that results for leg cellulite require four weeks of treatments for twice weekly. You need a similar number of treatments with Velashape.

Cellulite reduction is not permanent with any of the modalities currently offered.

Dr. Simoni,
The Smooth Shapes is a laser/light tx combined with message not Radio Frequency.
I tried Smooth Shapes and it didn't work.
This device can be put in the same catagory as the Vela.
The Accent Radio Frequency on the other hand worked great. Thermage can work too if you do multiple treatments but obviously that can get costly.
Have you tried the Accent?

Doctors. I have had the very best results form Smoothshapes. In responding to the other girl - I even tried the Accent which did not work at all for cellulite. I even worked for the clinical site for free to try it out and saw, first hand, patients results which varied but mostly they reduced in inches nothing for cellulite. I also know Thermage works great for skin tightening but is extremely painful. I have talked to so many women who started it and did not complete the 3 passes or had swore they would never do it again. That is not good for celluite either - mostly upper layer of skin - tightening. Try Smoothshapes if you want to reduce inches and smooth your cellulite. I lost 5 lbs without changing one thing. Plus what I really want has finally happened! Smoother legs and buttocks!
