The cost of the Juvederm varies on the region and how many syringes used.  We charge $650 for Juvederm or $1000 if combined with Botox.

More important than cost is the experience and expertise of the injector.

Juvederm: You Get What You Pay For

Before considering cost, consider the credentials and experience of the person who is going to perform the injection.  How Juvederm is injected is critical to obtaining a result with which you will be satisfied.

That being said, prices vary widely for a single 0.8 ml syringe of Juvederm Ultra or Juvederm Ultra Plus.  You can expect to pay between $500 and $900 per syringe.  The price varies based upon the area in which you live, the number of syringes purchased at one time, and the type of physician who is injecting it.

In general, plastic surgeons, facial plastic surgeons, oculoplastic surgeons, or dermatologists will charge more than other physicians.  This is because their training provides expertise in this area of medicine.

Be sure to inquire about anesthesia and "touch ups."  Most physicians will not charge for minor "touch ups" performed within 2-4 weeks of the injection insofar as a new syringe of material is not required.

Lastly, be sure to communicate your goals to your physician.  Only by understanding your goals can your physician meet and exceed your expectations.

Juvederm can run between $600-850 a syringe depending upon who you go to. There are alot of inexperienced doctors( not core physicians trained to do this like plastic surgeons, dermatologist, and ENT's) that do it for less. Remember, you get what you pay for.  Go to the right person who does good work., and that also can take care of any problems that may develop.

How much does Juvederm cost?

The cost of injecting one tube of Juvederm is highly variable. The biggest factor is probably where you are located. In my area, the range of prices for injecting one tube of Juvederm is about $500-$750.

Keep in mind, that price shopping is not a great way to choose your injector. There are other factors you should consider:

  • How much experience does the injector have injecting this filler?
  • What kind of anesthesia will you get?
  • What will happen if there is a problem?
  • Who pays for the Hyaluronidase injection if it needs to be dissolved?
  • Above all, does the injector take the time to understand what you want? If the injector does not care to really listen to your idea of how you want to look after the injection, then any price you pay (even free) is too much to pay.

The cost of Juvederm

Juvederm is the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid in a smooth gel formulation. The Juvederm Ultra Plus is a bit more viscous than Juvederm Ultra and may offer some additional volume to areas that are in need.

At Skin Speaks Spa M.D., Juvederm Ultra is priced at $595.00 per .8cc overfilled syringe, and a Juvederm Ultra Plus .8cc overfilled syringe costs $625.00.  When multiple syringes of Juvederm are purchased, there is often a discount applied.

I recommend looking for a Juvederm provider who has received Diamond Award.  Allergan, the manufacturer of Juvederm and Botox, gives the Diamond Award to practitioners who have demonstrated superior safety and experience in injecting.

What You Pay For Juvederm and Restylane Is Not As Important As Who You Pay

Arnold W. Klein, MD

You will find a variety of charges out there for the hyaluronic acid fillers, the most common of which are Juvederm and Restyane - both of which I use in my practice.

Prices depend mainly upon which geographic region of the country in which you live and generally range from $550 - $1,200.

You may ask, "Why the big difference?" It is more expensive in Beverly Hills, New York and Miami than it is in North Carolina, Tennesee, or Vermont. The reason for this is that typically the best doctors tend to congregate in these areas, and the cost of living is much less in other parts of the country.

It is important to understand that while cost is important, who is injecting your filler is more important than what you spend regardless of where you live. Not all doctors are created equal.

If you came to me for these injections, you are getting someone who has not only done this for 30 years and teaches other doctors how to do this, but I also invented many of the techniques used to inject them. There are many doctors out there, many of whom are not specialists in this field, who are now offering Botox and filler injections. This is a lucrative area in medicine and many doctors want to do this. Unfortunately, not everyone out there is properly trained to do it.

  • Always make sure that your doctor has completed a residency and is board certified in either dermatology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, facial plastic surgery, head and neck surgery or occuloplastic surgery before you see them.

While these residencies don't guarantee that your doctor is good at a certain procedure, it does guarantee that they have undergone years of specialized training and testing and goes a long way to ensure their competence, increasing the odds that they are good.

  • You do not want to see someone for your cosmetic procedure who is a psychiatrist, family practitioner or internist, and these doctors always charge significantly less than a specialist.

So when you compare cost for your next procedure, remember that all is not equal in this medical specialty and it is better in my opinion to spend a little more and get the very best possible result.

And finally, ask yourself, "Why would a doctor charge significantly less for a certain procedure?" There is almost always a very good reason and one that you don't want to find out about after you have already seen them.

Cost of Juvederm Ultra and Ultra Plus in San Francisco

Depending on where one goes, the cost of Juvederm ranges from about $550 to $650 per syringe. Generally only 1 or 2 syringes are needed for treatment of the lips, marionette lines, nasolabial folds, etc.

If an individual needs more than 2 syringes per treatment, the problem often may be better treated with a different technique (e.g. mid facelift). Given the longevity of certain cosmetic surgical techniques (as compared to repeated injections of 3 or more syringes of Juvederm), a mid-facelift may be more cost effective.

Juvederm cost depends on number of syringes

The cost depends on how many syringes you will need to fill in the lines or shadowing.

Typical clients wanting to treat deeper laugh lines will need 2 syringes of Juvederm Ultra Plus. The first syringe is around $650.

Juvederm Ultra helps fill the finer lines such as the glabellar lines. The 1st syringe for Juvederm Ultra is around $550.

A consultation is necessary to determine which product will be needed and approximately how many syringes it will take. The two different sizes of Juvederm help to perfect your results, so you are not left with an overcorrection.

Typically Juvederm is reported to last about 9-12 months.

Correct Price of Juvederm

Juvederm is an injectable gel which replaces the hyaluronic acid your skin has lost, bringing back volume and smoothing away facial wrinkles and folds. Juvederm Ultra is typically $550/syringe. If a second syringe is necessary then bigger discounts are offered... (such as $150 off second syringe.) Juvederm Ultra Plus is typically $650/syringe.

The cost of Juvederm is generally reported by the syringe. While every physician sets their own price for Juvederm, the company price is consistent across the country and costs several hundred dollars per syringe.

While price can play a role in the decision to purchase Juvederm, remember that this is something which is being placed into your face - be sure that the person injecting it has the knowledge and skill to achieve the results you desire.

In our clinic we charge $525 for Juvederm Ultra and $550 for Juvederm Ultra Plus, same as we charge for Restylane and Perlane respectively. If we use more than one syringe, the patients get a $50 discount on each additional syringe.

The cost of Juvederm

Juvederm is a great dermal filler to correct deepened nasolabial folds (the parentheses around the mouth), restore the volume in lips, temples, and the undereye areas, and fill acne scars.

Depending on the depth of the defect / volume loss, one syringe or more may be necessary. Most offices will charge $500 per syringe. Sometimes they will charge less for additional syringes. The syringe is prefilled, and one syringe cannot be used on multiple people for reasons of sterility. You will also have to use the syringe at that visit, also for reasons of sterility.

The only way to tell how many syringes you will need is to have a face-to-face consultation, so dig up those old pictures when you had full lips and your cheeks haven't fallen, and bring these with you. View before and after photos of treatments performed by your injector, and see if they have similar defects that you have that were corrected to your satisfaction.

You want your friends to suspect you had something done, not have your lips precede you.
