Cost varies with areas to be done....

I agree with the other answers but need to add that cost will certainly vary from having one large part (abdomen or thighs) vs. a smaller part (chin/neck) treated vs. multiple areas (back, abdomen, thighs, etc...) Multiple areas are likely going to result in discounts by many surgeons.

Costs vary widely and are the last issue in choosing your doctor

There are no standard fees for liposuction or any other cosmetic surgery for that matter. The price is an issue in today's economy but make that the last determinant of where you go. Remember that the best results are those that are done ONCE with no revisions. Revisions never get to the same level of result as if it went well the first time and it will cost you more if you have to go to another doctor to make it better. So go to the best doctor, not the cheapest, in the first place.

Liposuction costs - It all depends

Racheal,

The cost of liposuction carries a lot of variability.

(1) Location: Certainly the cost in South Beach, Florida is different than that in Bismarck, North Dakota.

(2) Technique: Are you having tumescent liposuction, ultrasonic liposuction (VASER), laser liposuction (Smart Lipo, Cool Lipo)?

(3) Anesthesia: If your doctor uses general anesthesia (puts you to sleep) to do the surgery, costs may be higher than if he uses "twilight" sedation. Both forms are commonly performed.

(4) The number of areas being treated. Typically, the more areas of your body that are treated, the lower the price per area being be treated.

(5) Your surgeon. Some surgeons are more in demand than others; some are having specials.

Call around, make some consults, look at the doctors before and after pictures, make sure you are comfortable with your experience, and your choice will likely develop on its own!

Good luck.
