SmartLipo

What it is: SmartLipo is a device used in laser-assisted lipolysis -- which means that a laser is used to melt or dissolve fat cells, followed by suction to remove it. The laser component of SmartLipo may provide skin tightening in addition to fat removal.

SmartLipo DOES NOT CAUSE CANCER!

SmartLipo has not been shown to cause cancer (or any other related medical conditions).

I'm not sure if someone asked this as a joke. . .but I'm sure people always wonder. . .

The scary part is that even if it did cause cancer, many people would still be "dying" to get it. 

Hmmmm.  It makes you wonder where our priorities are.

Cancer risks for SmartLipo and mesotherapy

Up to this date there is no evidence that Smart Lipo* causes cancer.

How ever there are some evidences that some drugs use in mesotherapy** could cause cancer. Meotherapy is not an FDA approved procedure.

*Smart Lipo : The procedure works by inserting a small cannula (tube) containing a laser fiber under the skin. The cannula is moved back and forth, delivering the laser’s energy directly to the fat cells, causing them to rupture and drain away. The laser energy may result in some skin shrinkage.

**Lipodissolve, LipoZap, Fatdissolve, Mesotherapy, Mesosculpturing, Lipotherapy, Lipostabil, Flab Jab : All these terms refer to the same procedure, which uses Phosphatidylcholine based injections to dissolve the fat.
