Can someone with low BMI undergo Smart Lipo?
I'm a young woman with a BMI of 17.8, but majority of my fat distribution is on my stomach. Am I a candidate for Smart Lipo?

SmartLipo is great for trouble spots
It sounds like you have just a small area that troubles you as clearly with your BMI you are not a heavy set person. Small trouble areas can be taken care of effectively with many different procedures. SmartLipo tends to yield good results with candidates such as yourself. It's minimally invasive nature will also allow you to have minimal downtime and get you back doing what you normally do very quickly. Good Luck!
SmartLipo may be ideal
Sometimes it is not the BMI that matters. What is important is whether or not there is a local fat deposit that creates an obvious bump, lump or protrusion.
SmartLipo, especially the new Smartlipo MPX is an ideal way to remove the small deposit and tighten the overlying skin to create the ideal sculpting of the area. It offers less bruising and thus a quicker healing period.
The only way to know if it is right for you is to be evaluated by your qualified physician to see if you are a candidate.
Yes
Indeed Smartlipo was originally intended for abnormal fat deposits for people close to their ideal BMI. Physicians have creatively combined Smartlipo with other modalities of liposuction to treat patients with much higher BMI's. You would get good results with Smartlipo done right.
YES... if Diet and Exercise Don't Work
Yes, lipodystrophy, or abnormal fat distibution, can occur in thin patients as well as heavier ones. If you have done the most possible to reduce your abdominal fat with diet and exercise, certainly see an experieced Smart Lipo Cosmetic surgeon for an evaluation. Together you can determine if this approach is well suited for you, as well as whether your expectations of body shape are realistic.
Good luck !
