Any advice on how to dissolve radiesse? Very swollen.

Was it worth it?

Just had radiesse injected for laugh lines. My dermatologist also filled in the cheek area to lift the heavy fold. I hate the results. Looks like I had cheek implants and it looks terrible. It's been 4 days and the "swelling" has not come down.

Any advice on how to reverse it? Is there anything I can do to help the stuff metabolize faster?

I had Radiesse injected into my laugh lines and was swollen and bruised for about 6 days then it went down and seemed to dissappear, but after 2 weeks it plumped up again and looks fine. I suggest you massage it to the desired shape. It'll get better trust me.

I hate the results of the radiesse. It has been 3 months since the injection and I can't wait for it to dissolve.

I had it over the wkend, i asked for jurvederm for my laugh lines but when i went it, doctor suggested i should get radiesse for it that i'll get better result and there were 2 nurses there kept telling me how great it is and i'll definitely like the result. i paid 900 for radiesse and i do not like the outcome. i trusted the doctor's recommendation, i was wrong, he gave me injection on my check area claimed it'll lift the area and helped gettin' rid of the minor laugh lines i have. I still have the lines but worst b'cuz now my cheek it's plumped and it made the lines more apparent and the area below my cheek it's lifted, ok enough said but i can't wait for it to go away but they said it lasts 1 to 2 dam yrs. I wish i can sue these doctors. i live in nyc, my doctor is on 14th street, i don't remember his name but if anyone wants to know, let me know.
This is worst than just losing $900.

I am so sorry to hear about your complaint, as I've got the same one! I went from a beautiful girl just wanting to get rid of the laugh lines, now i look like some sort of plastic surgery freak. I can't even physically smile anymore...and if i try it feels wierd but worse, looks horrid. Also I hate the way it feels like a to thick and wierd, and i think i can move it under the skin.

I am just so pissed, its made me look mascaline almost, my income i rely alot on modeling so I mean thats sort of important to look the same as before, I hardly get jobs anymore.

Did you girls find anyway to calm it down or get rid of it? I hear there may be a dissolvable,

Lastly can you have legal grounds in a matter like this? This doctor has made me very self concious of problem areas he decided to add to the list...and thanks to his pushy nature I now look terrible, I am losing my confidence and not so social anymore.

Please call me {edited} if you know of any advice!! Thanks and best luck to you too

Beware he gives horrible injections let him do my lips too...big mistake it like outlined them...rather than as i asked plump underside of lip so more natural curve up - I look the freaking JOKER

plus my radiesse disaster with him, plus he acts like your not that important, I dont think he cares if the products used cause complicatoins...I look like I have a "muzzle" now plus made whole face very round like...b/c when it hardens it pushes any other skin near lines all around...my nose is now even a wierd shape...now bulbous on the end

So upset ;(

You have to wait at least two weeks before really knowing how it will look in the end. usually if your face is really puffy you really need to wait. In fact, many complain (it happened to me) that radiesse didn't fill as much as they wanted. be patient. cheeks really make you look younger after they settle.

I would try castor oil packs, this oil is very natural & gentle and has the ability to break up internal scar tissue... You could google castor oil packs...you saturate a soft cloth apply to the area and then put a hot pack on for 30 -60 minutes. I had a wonderful experience with my radiesse treatment exactly a year ago, and was looking into it again to redo...and here i've found all these bad experiences here, I think it is the fault of dishonest unskilled practitioners, mine was a PA not an MD and it was great. I always thought if I hated it and looked like a wacko i'd do the castor oil packs, please let me know if it works.

Swelling is not necessarily a poor outcome but usually a side effect. Radiesse usually has more swelling associated with the product vs. Juvederm or Restylane. It should get better with each passing day and the use of intermittent cold packs (frozen pea bags) will help in the first few days. Unfortunately, you cannot "dissolve" or reverse this product like you can with the Hyaluronic Acid fillers. I would highly recommend that you contact the practitioner that did the treatment so that you get the appropriate instruction and feedback. More importantly, they should be aware so as to monitor your progress. Above all else, do NOT massage the area unless specifically instructed to by the one doing the treatment. Needless massaging/manipulation can displace the product, cause delayed hematomas, and exacerbate and prolong swelling.

Sima,
Go see a dermatologist. A Plastic Surgeon put Radiesse into my lips and I looked like Marge on the Simpsons! I went to a very highly recommended dermatologist/plastic surgron and he gave me kenalogg shots, on several occasions. Thank god, I 'm looking more like myself as the days go on, it's now been 3 weeks and I'm satisfied with the results.
Aloha,
Wendy

Lori is "right on".

Wait out the swelling and follow your provider's instructions. Most people look great once the swelling has subsided.

Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done (easily)to remove poorly placed Radiesse.

It can be adjusted during the first 10 days and/or augmented with additional filler. Sometimes softening the edges can make it look better but extreme care must be taken so that it doesn't appear "comical".

Of course, it's always best to have it done right the first time.

Make sure you can see plenty of photos and can speak to several people the provider has injected if you aren't absolutely certain of their ability.

I had raiesse injected in my cheeks three days ago and feel like I have cheek implants.I am scared. No one told me this was going to happen. What am I supposed to do?Should i consult another doctor or believe that it's going to get better?

You should first contact the doctor that performed the injections.

There is always some swelling and, sometimes, the "implant" feeling for a few days. This should resolve if the Radiesse is in the correct plane.

There is NO easy way to dissolve the Radiesse. This is the one major problem with this filler opposed to Restylane. Restylane can be expressed out or can be injected with a solution that breaks it down. The risks are not worth getting Radiesse when you can get a comparable result with other safer hyaluronic acid fillers. You were only four days out, so it is expected that you might still be swollen especially with Radiesse. You unfortunately have to wait out until the Radiesse goes away or have them cut of the implant. As time goes on, if you see any hard white lumps under the skins surface, you can have them inject hyaluronic acid on top to make it look smooth.

Dr. Clinton,
I had radiesse injected across my upper lip at the advice of my M.D. on April 24, 2008. It looks unnatural. I went to a plastic surgeon who feels an injection of juvederm can make it look more natural. Have you ever helped anyone with this issue?
I just want to look normal again. The radiesse will disolve completely in time, right? Thank you for your time.

Dear Sandi,
I would agree with Dr. Clinton's advise to the previous person. Juvederm or other hyaluronic acid fillers can help to fill in areas of irregularity after Radiesse. Personally, I would avoid Radiesse injections into the lips because of the irregularities seen. Fortunately, in time, it will dissolve, though it can take a year or more.

Lori,
Have you ever used juvederm to help with a more natural look when radiesse was injected across the upper lip?

Thank-you Dr. Verret. I don't understand why a professional would use radiesse in the lips. I trust my doctor whole heartedly. That's why I let her do it. She has it in her own lip and it looks great on her...but not on me. Do you think I will look better with a touch up of the juvederm. The professional has a great reputation.

Well - Your physician may be able to get good results with Radiesse in the lips, I don't know. Without seeing exactly what is going on, I cannot comment on your specific situation. I can tell you from other experience that Juvederm can be used as a temporary filler to smooth out lip irregularities from other treatments. Sorry to be vague but it's difficult to say what will and won't work specifically for you without an exam. Best of luck and if you happen to be in the Dallas area, please let me know.

I did have Juvederm put into my lips to smooth out the irregularties and I look alot better. I still wish the radiesse was gone but the juvederm has helped tremendously.
Thanks for trying to help me!
