Husbands Say Hydroxatone Really Makes You Look Younger

OlderWoman.jpg

Ok, I'm certainly not gullible when it comes to radio spots for skin care. But if you live in the NYC-metro area and you tune into 1010-WINS for your breaking news you must have heard the ads for Hydroxatone. There's simply no way to avoid them. And they're actually quite compelling if you're driving a mini-van with 5 occupied car seats, barely showered, early in the morning with take-along coffee in hand. As you listen, you hear husbands talking about their wives with such "wow, she's amazing" adulation--and all because of Hydroxatone--that you start to fall for it.

waterdrop.jpg

I'm one of those people who not only likes to know the real deal about most things (ie, not the hype) but also I'm a believer in giving credit where credit is due. So when I started to look behind the all-out promotional blitz for Procter & Gamble's Aquacurrent Science, I couldn't help but dig a bit to find out about this Nobel Prize-winning technology.Peter Agre, Nobel Prize Winner for discovery of aquaporins

And here's what you should know: A gentleman by the name of Peter C. Agre (at right) received the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 2003 for his discovery of the aquaporin water channels.

It Works Paste Appears To Be Working

MagicWandTophat.jpg

I'll take some pics when the healing's all done, but I can see from the scabbing today that the actual mole itself is gone...bye-bye...no more to be seen. Keep in mind, the mole I used It Works Paste on was not exactly large, but still, as an experiment, it's beginning to look like I won't be seeing that little brown spot ever again...stay tuned for the final reveal...

BeyonceCompare1A.jpg

The pictures (found in the UK Mirror online and Metro UK) seem to say it all; but all L'Oreal's saying is that they didn't tamper with Beyonce's skin color in the Feria ads that are running as we speak in Elle, Allure and Essence.Beyonce for Feria; Beyonce on the town

Turn Your Cell Off At Dr. Hauschka

Julia Roberts.bmp

Dr. Hauschka has long had a reputation for natural skin care. It's also been a long-time fave of celebs including Julia Roberts and Jennifer Aniston. And while other companies try to get on the organic bandwagon, only a few take going green to the level of Dr. Hauschka. Case in point: a recent article in The New York Times (6/28/08) shared some insight to the Dr. Hauschka gardens--visitors are asked to turn off their cellphones, for security, but also to avoid disturbing the harmony of nature.

Aquafina: From Skin Care To Colonic Cleansing?

waterdrop.jpg

Haven't heard much about colonic cleansing since it was all the rage when it was reported that Princess Di went for periodic cleansings way back when. In fact, my local colonic cleansing place (not that I ever went there) closed its doors over a year ago. But now, little by little, the concept's coming back--though perhaps not in its full-blown capacity.

PrettyFlowerAug2.jpg

Where the heck did this week go? Summer's flying by too quickly--I was just flipping through all the fall collections and can't believe we'll be in wool and cashmere again soon (I must be getting old because I wasn't feelin' the love for Marc Jacobs' RTW). Trying Out It Works Paste To Remove Moles

Recently a RealSelf.com reader mentioned a product called It Works Paste. I hadn't actually heard of it before, and admittedly it intrigued me.
